Denver Taikai

with Nagato Sensei

March 2028

Three days of training with Nagato Sensei, hosted by the Denver Bujinkan Dōjō. Denver sits at the end of a nonstop flight from Tokyo and a train ride from its own airport — and this will be the first Taikai held here.

壱

The weekend

Friday, Saturday and Sunday, following the format Nagato Sensei teaches elsewhere: two sessions of two hours each day, with a long enough break between them to eat properly and sit down.

  • Three days of training Six sessions in total, Friday through Sunday.
  • Arrive Thursday, leave Monday The shape most people will want. Nothing is scheduled outside the training itself.
  • Everything within walking distance Training, lodging and food all in the same few downtown blocks. No car, no daily commute.

Getting here

From the US
A hub for both United and Southwest Nonstop service from most of the country, without a connection.
From abroad
Nonstop from eight European cities London, Frankfurt, Munich, Paris, Rome, Dublin, Reykjavík and Istanbul. Clearing customs at Denver is also typically far quicker than at the major coastal gateways.
From Japan
Nonstop from Tokyo Narita No domestic connection on either end of the Pacific crossing.
Once you land
A train runs from the airport into the city The rail line connects the airport terminal directly to Denver Union Station, downtown — about forty minutes, and it runs in weather that stops the roads.

Denver in March

Two things worth knowing in advance, because neither is obvious and both are easy to plan around.

  • It can snow, and the train keeps running March is among our snowiest months. It is also usually bright and mild within a day of it. The airport rail line is the reason we chose a venue beside the station — it runs when the highways do not.
  • The city sits at 5,280 feet Most people feel it a little on the first day. Drink more water than you think you need, go easy the evening you arrive, and you will be fine by the time training starts.
